BOOK TOUR: Lisa Marie Rice - Breaking Danger (Ghost Ops #3)

Readings of Carol #798

Only one man and one woman can stop the world from burning in Breaking Danger, the thrilling final volume in Lisa Marie Rice's sexy Ghost Ops series, in which an elite super-secret military team must face down doomsday and protect the gifted women they love

Haven, a community of misfits and geniuses, is one of the few safe places remaining in a world on fire. Run by the Ghost Ops team, three dangerous, fearless, soldiers who were once betrayed and disgraced, will fiercely protect their country and the women they adore from a deadly plague that has turned people into violent monsters.

Beautiful brilliant Dr. Sophie Daniels is trapped in her home with the only antidote to the plague. Former Ghost Ops elite operative Jon Ryan is sent on a suicide rescue mission, brutally fighting his way to her side. Together they must cross treacherous terrain before they can return to Haven, but for them to succeed Sophie must trust this tormented soul and place her life, and her heart, in his hands.

Years of combat training has prepared Jon for this moment-unafraid, nothing is too dangerous now that he's found Sophie. He will risk everything, fight anyone, for her and a future filled with hope and love.

First of all I’m sorry for mistakes this review. This is my first review in English.

So… Let’s go!

Since July, ‘13, I started to learn English. And I was insecure for start reading anything in this language. But, when Vania Nunes from The Butterfly Reads blog (http://aborboletaquele.blogspot.com.br/) invited me to join a Book Tour of Lisa Marie Rice’s new book, “Breaking Danger”, I couldn’t resist and accepted the challenge. I'm in love with her since I had read Midnight Man.

Well ... I thought that I had read the previous books and I thought “I'll read it again to get into the mood of the story”, but I hadn’t read them (LOL). So, first of all I read previous books and knowing about Haven and Mac, Nick and John, soldiers who were part of “Ghost Ops”, a secret organization. They were betrayed but survived. And  it showed the way a virus to create super soldiers turns into a plague.

So… when I read Jon's book, I was all excited, and wondered how Lisa would work with this character who is the most skilled strategist among the three. Of course the mission to rescue Sophie, who had managed to escape from Arka Pharmaceutics (with a vaccine), seemed to be the hardest.

Sophie is Elle’s best friend (book #2 heroine, I Dream of Danger) and warned her to flee before the "bad guys" caught her. But Sophie is in trouble. The virus was triggered and San Francisco became a branch of the series The Walking Dead, there are zombies everywhere, but she hopes to be rescue and with Elle and Catherine (book #1 heroine, Heart of Danger) can produce the vaccine that she took from Arka Pharmaceutics.

And here comes Jon looking like a nordic god, to shake  Sophie’s life. The two go through extreme situations, making instant attraction turns into a love, as the two get to know better and "shared" their respective past. Jon, who had drugged parents who did not care about him, and Sophie with her ability to cure (Yeah, the three books have their fair share paranormal).

I admit that I was surprised with a little different about the way Lisa Marie leads the story, but there’s nothing to say against her . And you get so involved that it is hard not to root for Jon and Sophie get rid of the zombies and come to Haven for to produce the vaccine and to free the world of this plague.

The trilogy closes absolutely convincingly and sedimentary only made me love more the author’s writing and regret for there’s nothing from her published in Brazil .

For those who don’t know Lisa Marie Rice’s books, before Ghost Ops, I recommend to read the  Midnight Series.
